Friends who know EN71 know that it is important norm for toys in the EU market.

But friends, do you understand any requirements of EN71 for children's toy bags?

According to EN 71-1: 2005 + A9: 2009, 4.4 Toy bags, the description is:

4.4 Toy bags

Toy bags with an opening perimeter greater than 380 mm having a drawstring as a means of closure shall eight:

a. be made of material permeable to air; or

b. comply with requirements given in 4.14.2 a) (masks and helmets).

 

What is the description of 4.14.2 a) (masks and helmets)?

 

4.14.2 Masks and helmets

Masks and helmets shall conform to the following requirements:

a. Masks and helmets that fully enclose the head and which are made of impermeable material shall provide a total area of 1300 mm^2 or more through at least two holes at least 150mm apart or through any equivalent single ventilation area.


An example of an equivalent single ventilation area is given in Figure 6.
